Do you bill monthly or annually?
We provide monthly and annual billing options. The invoices can be paid using a credit card or a bank wire transfer.
Do you charge per user?
Afi requires one license per one protected active user. Each user license provides 50GB of backup storage which is pooled per domain.
There are no additional charges for SharePoint, Groups, Teams and Shared Mailboxes.
If you need to protect only SharePoint or/and Teams - please contact sales@afi.ai.
Do you charge for all users in the domain? What is an active user?
Afi only charges for protected active users. I.e. you only need to pay for the users you back up.
Users deleted from Microsoft 365 are automatically transitioned to the "archived" (=non-active) status. The archived users require no separate licenses. Their data will still be kept in Afi and will be available for preview/download/restore to other active accounts (but no new backups will be attempted for the archived accounts).
Is there a default retention limit?
By default, the data is retained for an unlimited period of time, but you can configure custom retention policies as described here.
What is the minimum number of licenses I can purchase?
The minimum number of licenses is 5.
What if the number of users grows during the subscription term?
If the number of protected users or storage exceeds licensed usage during your subscription term, you will have 2 options:
- Reduce the usage, by unprotecting some resources, in order to get back within the licensed usage.
- Buy more licenses to cover additional usage. You will be able to add additional licenses at any time, and the cost will be calculated using Time-Based Proration.
Example – Time-Based Proration:
When a customer chooses to add more licenses, the amount the customer will be charged is based on the price of the additional licenses, and the time left in their current subscription before it renews. The purpose of the proration is to co-term new licenses with the licenses that the customer already has.
Customer Beta Ltd purchased an annual subscription for 1,000 protected users for $36,000 on January 1, 2019. On August 1, 2019, the customer needs to add 10 more licenses priced at $36 per year each. The annual price for the additional licenses is $360 and there are 5 months left in their current subscription. Beta Ltd will pay $150 to upgrade ($360 x 5/12).
On January 1, 2020, the subscription will renew and the customer will pay $36,360 (1,010 protected resources) and have the license active until January 1, 2021.
What are the payment options?
We use Stripe (https://stripe.com/) as our payment provider. Stripe supports all major credit/debit cards, ACH transfers Single Euro Payments Area Direct Debit payments and 20+ other methods.
